Born on August 14, 1987, Abdul Khoza has made a name for himself in the South African entertainment industry as a distinguished actor and musician.

Abdul Khoza’s breakthrough came when he starred in the Magic soapie drama, Isibaya, portraying the character of Qaphela.

Abdul Khoza was born in KwaMashu, South Africa, and is of South African nationality. He is the son of Stan Khoza and has one sibling, Sthembiso ‘SK’ Khoza. Abdul is married to Batile Khoza Themane since 2019, and they have one child together.

Early Life

Abdul was born in the KwaZulu-Natal province, in KwaMashu, near Durban, but was raised in Ntuzuma. His father, Stan Khoza, is a Durban-based unionist and karate sensei, who is well-known in South Africa. Stan Khoza is the national president of the Independent Municipal and Allied Trade Union. Abdul’s family is considered to be above an “average family.”

From a young age, Abdul showed a flair for acting, often engaging in dramatic and confident role-playing activities. His brother, Sthembiso ‘SK’ Khoza, a top-rated television presenter and actor, played a significant role in helping Abdul realize his childhood dream of becoming an actor.


Coming from a “privileged” family, Abdul received quality primary and secondary education in Ntuzuma. Like his brother, SK Khoza, Abdul earned a degree from Johannesburg University before venturing into the entertainment industry.


Before gaining recognition as an actor, Abdul served in the South African Army for four years after completing his tertiary education. He also worked as a fireman for three years before joining the entertainment industry.

His mentor in the industry was the late veteran actor, Menzi Nugbane. Since joining the industry, Abdul has featured in numerous movies and is continuously working to advance his career. He aspires to excel in any TV series he participates in.

Abdul’s career took off when he won the SABC 1 in Class Act in 2012. Since then, he has been featured in many movies and series.


Abdul has played various roles in television series such as Class act- Season 2, Intersexions- Season 2, Isibiya, Two-Step, Kings of Joburg, Ring of lies- Season 1, Khutjo, Tempy Pushas- Season 1, Detective, The road- Season 1, Bheki Buthelezi, Uzalo – Season 1, and Doctor 1.

Personal Life

Abdul Khoza is married to Batile Khoza Themane, and they are blessed with a beautiful daughter. The couple tied the knot on April 27, 2019.
