Amamkele Lithemba Qamata, born on September 2, 1998, is a renowned South African actress. She has gained widespread recognition for her compelling performances in the Mzansi Magic series “Gomora”, where she plays Buhle Ndaba, and the hit Netflix series “Blood & Water”, where she portrays Puleng Khumalo.

Qamata was born in the Eastern Cape village of Cala, located in the Sakhisizwe Local Municipality. At the tender age of three, she moved to Johannesburg with her family.

She is an alumna of Reddam House Bedfordview, where she completed her matriculation in 2016. At the age of 17, Qamata made her television acting debut as Naledi in the situational comedy “My Perfect Family” on SABC1.
Role in “Gomora”
In 2020, she joined the cast of “Gomora”, playing the character of Buhle in the Mzansi Magic series.
Role in “Blood & Water”
Later that year, she appeared in Netflix’s “Blood & Water”. In this series, Qamata’s character, Puleng, is on a quest to prove that a successful swimmer from a private school is her long-lost sister, who was abducted at birth. Kutlwano Ditsele, the casting director for “Blood & Water” and executive producer on “Gomora”, invited Qamata to audition, which she did successfully.

Qamata has also had roles in “Rhythm City” and “Commandos: The Mission”. She is set to star in Matthew Leutwyler’s upcoming sports film “Fight Like a Girl” alongside Hakeem Kae-Kazim.
