Following the incident, Wendy Parker, Bernard’s wife, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt prayer for her husband’s recovery. In her post, she asked God to bless the hands of those who would be operating on Bernard and prayed for his successful surgery and full recovery. She quoted Isaiah 41:10 in her prayer: “Do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not give up.” She ended her post with a touching message to her husband: “Here it is again, me and you till the end of time.”

Bernard Parker was rushed to the hospital following the incident. Reports suggest that he broke two bones. His attacker, Bongani Zungu, has not yet apologized or accepted his part in the accident.

Coach Sead Ramovic’s Statement

Sead Ramovic, the 37-year-old coach of Bernard Parker, expressed his belief that a Sundowns coach would soon apologize for the incident. He stated that Zungu did not tackle Parker intentionally and that such incidents are part of football. He praised Parker for his mental strength and positive attitude and assured that they would support him in his recovery.
