Early Life and Education

Kajal Maharaj’s journey to success began in high school, where she won several awards for drama and speech. She then attended Face 2 Face makeup school, studying makeup art and fashion styling. Kajal Maharaj’s modelling career started early. At just 9 years old, she won the Miss Tinkerbell contest in 1993. Her talent was recognized when she won the Miss India KZN title in 2014 and participated in the Miss India SA Pageant.

In the following year, she won two titles: the Face of India Bollywood SA in Gauteng and the face of The Pavilion Nights Adverts and Billboards in Durban. In 2006, she represented South Africa in the Miss International Tourism pageant and won the Miss Congeniality award. She also became the face of Suncoast Casino’s Summer adverts and was profiled in the SA India Magazine in 2008.

Kajal Maharaj’s acting career took off quickly. She made her debut in the play “Bad Girls Do Go to Heaven” in 2007 and starred in her first film “Broken Promises 2” the same year. She then landed the leading role in the film “Run for Your Life”. Kajal continued to explore opportunities in TV soapies, where she found great success.
