Lira Celebrates Two Years Milestone of Recovery After Stroke

Lira, one of the nation’s most gifted vocalists, marked her two-years milestone since suffering a stroke. She commemorated this milestone by sharing a video of herself running in the desert and dancing. Her rise to fame had been evident to all, and just when fans anticipated her to dominate the music scene, she was struck by a stroke. This led many fans to fear that she might lose her beloved voice and her ability to speak.

The stroke came at a time when most fans envisioned her taking over the country’s music scene. The fear that she might lose her ability to speak and sing, the voice they adored, was palpable among her fans.

A Long Journey to Recovery

Fortunately, Lira proved them wrong. She managed to regain her speech and even her singing ability, as demonstrated during her birthday celebration. It’s been an incredible comeback and a long journey that Lira has had to undertake to get to where she is today.

Her efforts have paid off, and she is now preparing to relaunch her career with a show scheduled for May 25.

The video that Lira shared encapsulated the journey she had embarked on and the extent of her recovery. At a time when fans were worried about her life, her ability to speak and sing, few could have imagined seeing her walk or run again.

This progress was what Lira showcased in her video, and it was clear how much her family relished her recovery. Her friends and family turned out in large numbers during her birthday party to wish her well.

She sang for them, indicating that she was back and ready to start anew. “I celebrated my birthday with an intimate party with my friends and family, and surprised them with a mini concert! I felt safe enough to perform for them – they’ve been with me since I could not speak – and now I performed in English and vernacular – I nailed it!!! It was a proud moment. I could not hold back tears … I’ve come such a long way. I’m so proud of myself. I can’t wait to sing for you at the #Basslinefest on 25 May 2024 ❤️🙏🏾”

Lira’s Heartfelt Message

On the occasion of celebrating two years since the stroke, Lira wrote a heartfelt letter expressing her gratitude. “22 March 2024 – Today marks two years since the stroke, and I’m so grateful to be alive and talking and singing. I’ve come such a long way. God is so good!!! 🙏🏾😊 I’ve had an incredible journey and learnt a lot. I’m almost there 🙏🏾👌🏾🥰,” she said. She concluded by thanking her fans for their support, “Thank you to everyone who has shown me support, thank you for your love and prayers 🙏🏾❤️”.
