Early Life and Education
Lusanda was born in Butterworth, also known as Gcuwa, in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. She attended Clarendon Girls’ High School in East London. After high school, she enrolled at Technikon Witwatersrand in 1998. She holds a B.Com in Marketing from the University of South Africa (UNISA). Furthering her education, Lusanda graduated from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Program (GIBS) in Entrepreneurship and holds a post-graduate qualification in Entrepreneurship.

Initial Career in Corporate Space
Lusanda’s career began in the corporate world, where she climbed the ladder to reach the executive level. She led Marketing Departments and even established an HR Department in the Engineering and Telecoms industries.

Transition to Acting
Before stepping into the acting world, Lusanda was part of numerous advertising campaigns. She worked with well-known brands like Knorrox, Kellogg’s (Chocos), Brand Power (Ponds), Rama, Milo, and Dettol. She also played a lead role for McCain and did commercials for other brands like Google, Edgars, KFC, DStv, IDZ, SALGA, UIF, Enterprise, Blue Ribbon, Sanlam, African Bank, and ECSA.
Breakthrough in Acting
Lusanda made her acting debut in 2009 in the SABC2 soap opera Muvhango, where she portrayed Advocate Macheke. She then landed a role in Generations, playing Naomi Malotana, which became one of her most talked-about roles. However, she left the show after a year.
Continued Success in Acting
After leaving Generations, Lusanda played Joyce, a guest role, in season eleven of the SABC1 drama series Soul City. She then landed a starring role as Zodwa in the SABC1 sitcom Abo Mzala, but left after the first season and was replaced by Thembsie Matu.
In 2013, Lusanda appeared in several soap operas. She played MaKhumalo in The Khumalos until 2015 and Aliah in the SABC1 drama series Tempy Pushas.
