Makhadzi Performance at Limpopo festival

On a beautiful Saturday, the Phalaphala FM Royal Heritage Festival was in full swing at the scenic Nandoni Dam in Thohoyandou, Limpopo. The festival was brought to life by none other than the vibrant and talented singer, Makhadzi, who delivered a performance that can only be described as electrifying at Limpopo festival.

Makhadzi Grand Performance at Limpopo festival

Makhadzi made a grand entrance that left the audience in awe. She soared across the audience, creating an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation. As she flew over the crowd, she performed songs from her latest album, “Mbofholowo,” captivating everyone with her powerful voice and energetic performance.

A Unique Performance

In a unique twist, Makhadzi also performed using a wheelchair during her set. This unexpected element added a new dimension to her performance, demonstrating her versatility as an artist and her commitment to inclusivity.

Viral Footage and Upcoming Documentary

Footage of Makhadzi’s performance quickly spread across social media platforms, garnering widespread attention and praise. This performance was not just for the live audience but was also filmed for Makhadzi’s upcoming documentary.

Makhadzi shared with TshisaLIVE that her documentary is about her life, her performances, and her mjolo. It aims to reveal the side of Makhadzi that people don’t know. She expressed that she had been hesitant about filming it initially due to concerns about someone else owning the rights to her work. However, she decided to take matters into her own hands and has been shooting it herself since last year.

Independence and Creative Freedom

Since parting ways with her former record label Open Mic Productions in May, Makhadzi has been enjoying more creative freedom. She established her own label, Makhadzi Entertainment, which has allowed her to have full control over her music.

Makhadzi shared that she learned a lot from Open Mic about the industry. Now that she’s independent, everything is flowing smoothly. Her album sales are high, streams are high, and bookings are high. She expressed that nothing has changed except for the fact that everything is now doubling because she’s independent and everything comes directly to her.

She also shared that she now understands how much she could have made before, how much she’s making now, and how much she should be making from streams. She believes she’s getting to know a lot of things that were hidden from her when she was working with other people.

While she feels that this knowledge came a bit late after she had already dropped a lot of hits, she believes everything happens for a reason.
