Natasha Sutherland Biography

Natasha Sutherland, born on 20th November 1970 in Durban, South Africa, is a renowned South African actress. She has gained fame for her roles in popular television serials such as Honeytown, Tarzan: The Epic Adventures, and Scandal!. In addition to her acting career, she is also a motivational speaker, author, and counselor.

Personal Life

Natasha was born to choreographers Geoffrey Sutherland and Kenlynn Sutherland (formerly Ashby). She was married to Steve Hofmeyr, a South African singer, songwriter, and TV presenter, in 1998. However, they divorced in 2008 due to Steve’s 10-year relationship with fitness instructor Janine van der Vyver. The couple has two sons, Benjamin and Sebastian.


Natasha began her career in the early 1990s as a presenter of the children’s show Kideo. She then acted in the soap opera, Egoli: The Place of Gold, in 1991. In 1996, she started her acting career with two television serials: Honeytown and Tarzan: The Epic Adventures. Following the success of these serials, she acted in the home movie Operational Delta in 1997.

She also made a significant impact on the South African theater scene with several popular stage plays such as Gigi in 1992 and The Revlon Girl. Concurrently, she directed music videos and worked as an editor of Finesse Magazine.

Apart from acting, Natasha is a public motivational speaker who has traveled across the country and international stages. She is the brand ambassador for the South African Beauty brands ‘Placecol’ and ‘DNB’. She is also a prolific author, having written her first book Bittersweet. Following the success of her first book, she wrote Green and Blue in 2010 (her first children’s book), Fairytale, and Sprokie.
