Before Gomora, Sishi had made earlier appearances on screen. He presented the SABC2 show Hectic Nine-9, which he joined in May 2019. From June to September 2018, he was a cast member of the SABC 2 high school drama Signal High.

On Gomora, Sishi plays the role of a troubled son who wanted love but got less from his home. So he looked outside to get loved and appreciated.

Sishi auditioned for the same production company that makes Gomora when they were casting for Nkululelo. However, he couldn’t get the role because they wanted someone fluent in Xhosa while he is Zulu. Despite this, he impressed the judges, so they kept his audition takes. When they sought a person to play Ntokozo, he received a call for an audition. After putting up another performance on the show, he got the role.
