Born and bred in Meadowlands, Gauteng, South Africa, Seiphemo’s journey began in this humble setting.

Educational Background

Seiphemo’s educational journey began at Anchor Comprehensive High School in Orlando West, Soweto, in 1991. He later sought higher education at Texas A&M University in Brazos County, College Station, USA. Here, he focused on Bachelor of Arts (BA) studies, graduating in 1995 with majors in English, Acting, Sociology, Theatre Production, and Psychology.

Career Highlights

Seiphemo embarked on his illustrious career in 1989, leaving an indelible mark on the entertainment industry. His remarkable acting skills were displayed in productions like “How to Steal 2 Million,” “Tsotsi,” and the sports drama “Themba.” His move from “Generations: The Legacy” to the Mzansi Magic telenovela “The Queen” in early 2020 highlighted his versatile acting range.

In 2003, Seiphemo and his respected business partner, Kenneth Nkosi, established the production company Stepping Stone Pictures. Their creative pursuits resulted in the production of the film “Paradise Stop.” The company’s reach extended to a 13-part drama series for SABC 1 titled “Task Force” and various content for Mzanzi Magic, including “Laugh Out Loud (LOL).” Their passion for acting education led to the creation of the Fumba Academy for Acting.

In 2023, Seiphemo made a notable return to “Generations: The Legacy,” joining forces with Connie Ferguson.

Personal Life


Seiphemo’s wife is Olga Ruberio, and they have been happily married since 2003. Olga, a holder of a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the Management College School of South Africa, serves as an Executive Director at Le Blaq. The couple tied the knot in 2003 at The Royal Swazi Sun Hotel in Lobamba, Eswatini.

Alleged Affairs

Like many public figures, Seiphemo’s life has not been without controversies. The media has speculated about alleged affairs with various women. One such alleged affair with actress Zoe Mthiyane, who played his love interest in “Generations: The Legacy,” attracted attention. The relationship ended publicly, leading to Zoe Mthiyane’s exit from the show.

Subsequently, rumors surfaced about another alleged relationship between Seiphemo and actress Zandile Tshukulu, the granddaughter of Mfundi Vundla. They collaborated on “Generations: The Legacy,” and rumors suggested that he fathered her first child. However, Seiphemo has not officially commented on these reports.

In a frank interview with Drum Magazine in 2015, Seiphemo openly confessed to having been unfaithful to his wife. One of the women alleged to be involved was Zoe Van Der Jeke from Ceres, Western Cape. Zoe denied these allegations, insisting that her relationship with the actor was purely platonic.

Car Accident

In February 2016, Seiphemo was involved in a car accident that sadly took the lives of three people. Seiphemo and two others were critically injured. Initially, the incident was attributed to an attempted carjacking, as narrated by the actor. However, further investigations revealed a more intricate story, leading to the addition of culpable homicide charges to the carjacking allegations. It was disclosed that Seiphemo had been driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.
