Robert Mpisi, a name synonymous with talent and versatility, has carved a niche for himself in the South African entertainment industry. Born on 20th March 1985 in Klerksdorp, North West, Robert is a distinguished actor and an AFDA graduate, best known for his role as London in the Mzansi Magic drama series “Gomora”.

Early Life and Education

Robert’s journey into the world of acting began at a young age. He landed his first acting job in a drama series called “TSHA TSHA” for SABC 1 when he was just 17 years old. His educational journey saw him matriculate in Klerksdorp, after which he pursued a BA in Live Performance at AFDA, one of South Africa’s prestigious institutions.

Career Highlights

Robert’s career is marked by a series of successful ventures in both film and television. His first stage appearance was in the play “Madeline En Sy Kinders” at the tender age of seventeen. With guidance from industry veterans like Candice Hillebr and Dorothy Ann Gould, Robert quickly found his footing in the industry, featuring in adverts, films, and TV dramas.

His filmography includes TV dramas such as “Tsha Tsha”, “City Ses’la”, “Home Affairs”, “Good Friday Special”, “Take Charge”, and “Buckets”, a Swedish film about a boy who comes to South Africa to find his roots. He has also lent his voice to a number of radio and TV ads, as well as the soap operas “Generations” and “Rhythm City”.

On stage, Robert has showcased his talent in various productions. He played the lead in “Cellphone”, a comedy production that was showcased at the Grahamstown Festival. He also portrayed a drug dealer in a play written by Dr. Allan Kolski called “The Pump Room”.

Linguistic Skills

Robert’s linguistic prowess is as impressive as his acting skills. He is fluent in six languages: English, Afrikaans, Xhosa, Sotho, Tswana, and Zulu.

Entrepreneurial Ventures

In addition to his acting career, Robert has also ventured into the business world. He is the founder of “Talent Factory”, a casting and modeling agency, further showcasing his multifaceted talent.
