Sihle Ndaba Biography
Siphesihle “Sihle” Ndaba is a South African actress, singer, and voice-over artist known for her diverse talents. She gained prominence for her role as Smangele Maphumulo on the SABC 1 telenovela, Uzalo.

Early Life and Education
Born in Ermelo, in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa, Sihle pursued her education at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) after completing her matriculation. She studied towards a National Diploma in Musical Theatre. During her time at TUT, she joined the cast of the hit Broadway musical, Walt Disney’s The Lion King, which toured Singapore in 2011.

She has appeared in numerous theatre productions, such as Kwela Bafana at the Market Theatre in Johannesburg, Freckle Face Strawberry, and King Kong at The Fugard Theatre in Cape Town. Sihle’s television career began with her participation in the M-Net reality competition series Idols, where she reached the Top 18 in its eighth season in 2012. She subsequently played guest roles in various television series, including iNkaba and Room 9.
Her breakthrough role came as a member of the original cast of the SABC1 soapie Uzalo, where she portrayed the character of Smangele Maphumulo. Uzalo debuted on 9 February 2015 and achieved significant success, becoming the first show to surpass Generations in the TAMS ratings in over a decade. Sihle was initially a recurring character but was later promoted to a series regular in Season 3. Her character’s storyline concluded in Season 4, with her final appearance occurring at Smangele’s funeral on 16 February 2018.
Following her departure from Uzalo, Sihle had a starring role as Kayise in the Mzansi Magic supernatural drama series The Herd in 2018. She also portrayed the character of Cebisile Mkhize on the popular series Isibaya.
Sihle continued to showcase her talent by playing the role of Ncebakazi Manzi in the Mzansi Magic series Gomora. In 2022, she landed the role of Dudu in the television drama Scandal!.
