Siya Raymond Sepotokele Biography
Born on 23 October 1996 in Orlando East, Soweto, Siya Raymond Sepotokele is the son of Shadrack Ta Sello Ntsibande and the late Phyllis Sepotokele. Despite his parents’ unemployment, they ensured that he had everything he needed. Siya’s upbringing around older people influenced his taste for music, and his talents became evident while he was in grade 6 at Sivuleleni Primary School, where he began singing.
Siya was not only talented in co-curricular activities but also excelled academically. At the age of 15, he earned a full scholarship from St. David’s Marist Inanda, a renowned private high school in Johannesburg. After completing his high school education, Siya enrolled at Wits University to pursue a career in music. However, a few months into his university education, he felt conflicted and decided to leave music to pursue acting. This decision disappointed his parents, who had seen him quit school for theatre.

Acting Career
Siya’s acting career took off when he met actress Florence Masebe, who told him he had the potential to be an actor. Heeding her advice, he enrolled in an acting school to hone his craft. His first acting role was as Lehasa in the SABC2 telenovela Keeping Score in 2016. Tragically, his mother passed away two months after he landed the role due to cervical cancer. Siya dedicated his performance to her memory and used his grief as motivation to excel in his role.

- Isibaya as Mpiyakhe’s son
- The Republic as Karabo

- DiepCity as Sikhumbuzo
- Muvhango as Dr Sechaba
In Muvhango, he played a cancer survivor-turned-doctor who had been in remission for three years. He falls in love with Imani Nkosi, played by Zonke Mchunu, and they take viewers through their love story. Siya says he was excited to join the show and play the character, who is very kind, gentle, and passionate.
In 2023, Siya joined Smoke And Mirrors as Sakhile.

Music Career
In addition to acting, Siya is also a singer with a distinctive voice and style. He was part of the Soweto Melodic Voices choirs while in high school. Siya has also performed at various events and festivals, such as the National Arts Festival and the Joy of Jazz Festival. He says music is his first love and he hopes to release his own album in the future.
Personal Life
Siya is in a relationship with someone who has helped him progress, but he has not revealed her name or details. He says he is very happy and grateful for his partner, who supports him in his career and personal growth. Siya is also close to his father, who has been his pillar of strength since his mother’s death.
