Thabo Gabriel Malema, born on the 26th of December, 1985, is a renowned actor hailing from South Africa. His journey in the world of acting has been marked by numerous notable performances in both film and theatre.
Personal Life and Education
Born in Mabopane, a township in Gauteng, Johannesburg, Malema’s early life was steeped in the rich cultural milieu of South Africa. He completed his primary education at Maryvale College, a well-known institution in Johannesburg.
Following his passion for the arts, Malema pursued film studies at the South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance (AFDA). This institution is known for its rigorous curriculum and has been the starting point for many successful actors in the industry.
In addition to his film studies, Malema also pursued a degree in Communication and Language at UNISA, further broadening his academic horizons. In 2010, he had the opportunity to travel to Uganda and Niger, where he worked with the Airtel mobile company.

Malema embarked on his acting career in 2006, despite not having a traditional acting background. His first major project was the production of the historical film, “Kalushi”. The film tells the poignant story of Solomon Mahlangu, a young boy who joins the South African Liberation movement after being brutalized by apartheid police officers.

In the realm of theatre, Malema has showcased his acting prowess in stage plays such as “All Balls”, “Umuzi ka Vusi”, and “Woza Albert”. His performance as Khaya in the film “Single Guys” earned him a nomination for the Golden Horn Award for Best Actor in a lead role at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) in 2015.
