Congratulations are in order for Thabo Ndlovu, who sang his way to victory in the 19th and final season of Idols SA. As the season drew to a close, Thabo was overjoyed to be declared the winner, with Princess MacDonald finishing as the runner-up.

The Prizes for the Winner and Runner-Up

Thabo’s victory came with a host of life-changing prizes. As the last South African Idol, he received:

  • R1m cash from Mzansi Magic;
  • a new Toyota Vitz;
  • a technology bundle from Huawei worth R65,000;
  • musical equipment from Yamaha worth R100,000;
  • a wardrobe to the value of R100,000 from Truworths; and
  • a recording deal from Feel Good Music to kickstart his music career.

Princess, the runner-up, will receive all her live show outfits plus a fashion voucher to the value of R50,000 from Truworths.

Thabo’s Heartfelt Message

Thabo, 26, took to his social media timeline to express his gratitude. He thanked his fans for their unwavering support, Idols SA and Mzansi Magic for the platform, and everyone involved in the production. He also expressed his appreciation for his family and his hometown, Witbank. He wrote, “I still can’t believe that we are where we are today — and it’s all thanks to each and every one of you… To my hometown, Witbank, guys, IBUYILE, we have made history and I love you all.”
