She was raped twice by her cousin, a traumatic experience that she was able to heal from with the help of her close friend, Pamela Nomvete. In an interview, she revealed that she has forgiven everyone who wronged her.

In May 2016, Mnumzana became ordained as a preacher. She disclosed that her pastor had warned her to follow the will and command of God or risk losing everything. Her failure to answer her call early led to the loss of her husband and fortune.

As a teenage girl, Tinah endured a series of bitter experiences. She was raped twice by a family member when she was thirteen years old, an incident she was initially too ashamed to disclose to her mother. Thanks to the support of her close friend Pamela Nomvete, she was able to move on. In an interview, Tinah stated that she has forgiven those who wronged her.

She also survived another attack at her workplace in a Soweto-based school when a stranger attempted to rape her. Her students and colleagues, who heard her scream, came to her rescue.

Home and Financial Challenges

In 2003, Tinah Mnumzana purchased a house in Xavier Reef, Johannesburg, for herself and her children. However, she lost the beautiful structure to creditors. She reportedly paid for the house in 2005.
