Case Postponement and Legal Representation
Due to Gabuza’s absence, his case was postponed to Thursday, 15 February. His defense lawyer, Themba Ngobeni, informed Daily Sun that Gabuza was unwell, which was the reason for his absence. “He isn’t feeling well, and that’s the reason he didn’t come. I’m not sure where he was today,” Ngobeni stated. Magistrate Lindokuhle Lubisi issued a stern warning to Gabuza, stating that he must be present on the rescheduled date, or a warrant of arrest would be issued. She further added that his bail conditions would be forfeited if he failed to appear by 8.30am in February.
TS Galaxy star Gabuza in hot soup!: Bail Conditions and Personal Relationships
In November, prosecutor Tshiego Deka outlined the bail conditions, which included stipulations that Gabuza must not approach or contact the victim, and he must not commit a similar offense, or he would be returned to prison. During a previous appearance, Magistrate Peggy Senne granted Gabuza bail of R3 000 after his defense lawyer Ngobeni explained that it was mid-month and Gabuza had not yet received his pay. The police began investigating Gabuza after a case of malicious damage to property was filed against him on 11 November. The complainant, Zikhona Zode, declined to comment on the matter when approached by the SunTeam. Zode, a 31-year-old online teacher, had previously spoken about her ordeal, stating that she and Gabuza had been friends before attempting a romantic relationship, which ultimately did not work out. Gabuza, however, claimed that Zode was his wife.
