Tshepo Howard Mosese, widely recognized by his stage name Howza, is a multifaceted personality hailing from South Africa. He has made significant contributions to the entertainment industry as an actor, rapper, TV presenter, songwriter, and model.

Tshepo Mosese was born on July 19, 1983. As of the year 2024, he has reached the age of 41.

Early Life and Education

Born and raised in Diepkloof, South Africa, Tshepo Mosese developed a keen interest in the performing arts from a young age. He received training at the Actors Centre located at Johannesburg’s Civic Theatre and completed a course for TV presenters. In addition to his artistic pursuits, he also studied Psychology, demonstrating his dedication to both the arts and academia.

Tshepo Mosese is a polyglot, with proficiency in several languages including English, Zulu, SeTswana, Southern Sotho, and Afrikaans. Apart from his professional endeavors, he is a passionate writer, a movie enthusiast, a regular gym-goer, and a singing aficionado.

Acting Career

Tshepo Howza Mosese has made a lasting impact on the South African entertainment industry. In 2008, Tshepo embarked on his journey as a TV host, presenting the Christian lifestyle magazine show “Big Up” on SABC1. He later took on the hosting responsibilities for the fifth season of the reality show “All You Need is Love” in 2012.

His television appearances spanned various shows like “Jam Alley,” “7de Laan,” “Selimathunzi,” and “YOTV.” In 2013, he assumed the role of host for the reality competition series “Bar One Manhunt.”

A significant milestone in his career was securing a leading role as Police detective “Lerumo Chabedi” in ETV’s popular daily soap opera, “Scandal!” in November 2013. He dedicated eight years to the show, leaving in mid-2021 to focus on other projects, particularly his music.

In 2020, Tshepo Mosese replaced Lesley Musina as the host of the SABC2 consumer rights program, “Speak Out.” He also made a guest appearance in the Disney+ animated series “Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire.”

Music Career

Howza’s journey into music began early, with his participation in school choirs and cultural activities. In 2002, he joined the hip-hop group “Gunpowder,” which was affiliated with Kabelo Mabalane’s label. He later received a record deal as a solo artist under Faith Records, releasing his debut solo album, “Cut to the Chase,” in 2007.

Throughout his career, Howza collaborated with other artists, such as Selwyn, Amu, and Bouga Luv. He even performed alongside international stars like Will Smith and Queen at the 46664 concert in 2005. Tshepo has been a member of the well-known Kwaito outfit “Blackjack” since 2005 and released a solo album bearing the same name, “Cut to the Chase,” in 2007. He also made appearances on Mandla “Spikiri” Mofokeng’s album in 2007.

Personal Life

Tshepo Howza Mosese is happily married to actress Salamina Mosese, and together they are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters. In 2023, they celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary, marking a significant milestone in their enduring relationship.

Health and Advocacy

In 2003, at the age of 20, Tshepo Mosese was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. His familiarity with diabetes began at a young age, as his father battled with Type 2 diabetes. Inspired to raise awareness and support those affected by diabetes, Howza became a World Youth Diabetes Ambassador. He travels nationally and internationally, sharing his personal story of living with Type 1 diabetes, with the aim of being a positive role model and increasing awareness about this condition.
