Born and raised in the northern part of Pretoria, in a town called Mabopane, Tsholofelo Matshaba has always been private about her upbringing. She earned a National Diploma in Musical Theatre from the Tshwane University of Technology between 2002 and 2004.

Matshaba married her soulmate, Chris Matshaba, on December 27, 2014, in Ramokokastad. Chris, a businessman who also worked as a DJ and radio host on Motsweding FM, unfortunately, passed away in 2018 after battling cancer. This tragic event brought an abrupt end to their love story. Matshaba was devastated by her husband’s demise and wrote a touching tribute expressing her appreciation for Chris’ love. Prior to her marriage to Chris, Matshaba had a daughter with Dingaan Mokebe, a South African actor, singer, TV personality, and voice-over artist. Mokebe is Matshaba’s ex-boyfriend and the father of her child. Matshaba has a tattoo on her back with the inscription “Vincentia”.
